When remodeling your home, the safety and well-being of homeowners is always a high priority. The same consideration should be extended to furry children, our pets! Making sure our pets have a safe and secure place to stay during construction, as well as shelter from loud noises is very important.
As part of our initial consultation, we always get to know homeowners and their pets, so proper accommodations can be made. Safe rooms that are posted and locked to keep dogs and cats secure, keeping them out of harms way and ensuring they are not accidentally let out by workers is a given. Occasionally, on major remodeling projects, pets may need to leave the home temporarily to an off-site location.
For outdoor pets, a fenced off area can easily be created, away from construction where they can roam free. When interviewing home improvement professionals, make sure you feel comfortable about how your pets will be treated and there is a plan in place when construction begins.
