How To Check Permits In San Diego
If you are considering buying a home, especially a home that has been flipped, you should research the history of permits that have been requested for that home. The City of San Diego has made it easy to search a property’s history of permits. With 8 easy steps you can access all of the permits that have been issued for a property with just the address.
Go to the Development Services homepage. Select the OpenDSD tab.
Select Search for Project Information.
You will be asked “Is your project related to one of the following permits?” Answer yes or no.
You can search by the Approval ID or Project ID. If you do not have this information, you can simply search by typing in the address for the property.
Results that match or are a close match will be shown. You can click on any of the blue links to view the approval or project.
Once you have selected a blue link, you will see the information regarding the approval.
Additional information regarding fees paid, inspections and results are able to be viewed. If this were a more complex project, you would see items such as dependent approvals and packages listed here.
If you map the results, you will see where the permits are issued, and can click to see a brief description.
